Located off the west coast of the Istrian peninsula and easily accessible from Fažana, Veliki Brijun Island is part of the protected Brijuni National Park. You can go on safari there, and see animals like zebras, sheep, oxen, dromedaries, llamas and elephants. It used to be the Yugoslavian dictator Tito’s residence.
