Yes, it is generally safe for tourists to travel from Sharm El-Sheikh to Mount Sinai. The Egyptian government has increased security in the Sinai Peninsula, and most tours operate under official escort. Always book through reputable tour companies and check your government’s travel advice before departure.
The ideal time to visit is between October and April when temperatures are mild. Sharm El-Sheikh enjoys year-round sunshine, perfect for beach holidays, while Mount Sinai is best climbed during cooler months to avoid extreme heat. For sunrise visits to Mount Sinai, aim for late autumn through early spring.
The standard hiking route, known as the Snake Path, takes around 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on fitness levels. Most tours begin the climb early in the morning between 2:00 and 3:00 to reach the summit by dawn.
Pack a torch or headlamp (essential for the dark climb), warm clothing (it can be very cold at the summit, even in summer), water, snacks and comfortable walking shoes. A scarf or hat is useful against wind and sand. Don’t forget your camera for the stunning sunrise views.
We don’t have any villas in this resort right now. But we’ve hundreds available in other destinations, so find your perfect one now.
