Golfing in Cyprus

The west coast of Cyprus brings you classy golf courses with plenty of sightseeing too. Golfing in Cyprus has a modern approach, with most of its courses being built after 2000. This means you can expect well-equipped club houses, expertly designed fairways and perfectly manicured greens.

Rich history

Up for a spot of sightseeing? You’ll be spoilt for choice with the 4th century BC Tombs of the Kings, the Kato Paphos Archaeological Park and the medieval Paphos Castle all nearby.

Time to relax

If unwinding on a beach is more your thing, Faros Beach is a great choice. Meanwhile, Lara Bay is a shore so secluded and idyllic that it’s a favoured nesting ground for loggerhead turtles.

Top resorts

The distinctively upmarket Aphrodite Hills was purpose built for luxury golfing holidays. Established just a few years ago, it has quickly proven to be the go-to resort for golf courses. The exclusive Minthis Hills has a similarly impressive ambience too.

Minthis Hills Golf Club

Par: 71

Length: 5843m

Designer: Donald Steel

Course Type: Parkland

Tee to Green: The oldest and most established golf course in Cyprus, this course occupies a historic location, with a monastery on site. The olive tree lined fairways are excellently kept and the mountains provide the perfect backdrop to the rolling landscape.

Signature Hole: The 13th is a real test of nerve. At only 160 yards, you would be forgiven for thinking this would be a relatively simply par 3, however reaching the small island green, often buffeted by the wind provides a real challenge.

The 19th: Bar. Restaurant. Club house. Driving range. Putting green. Pro shop.
