The area: Aphrodite Hills is a golfing haven in splendid Cyprus. The resort is made up of an 18-hole course as well as a 3-hole academy, so you can practise and then test your skills in one. Watch out for the championship course’s pot bunkers and tiered greens.

Holes: Of all the holes, the 7th on the championship course is played over a spectacular 130m gorge. It’s visually stunning but a challenge for all skill levels.

The area: As the oldest and most established in Cyprus, this golf course occupies a historic location, with a monastery on site. The olive tree-lined fairways are excellently kept and the mountains provide the perfect backdrop to the rolling landscape. You’ll be hard pushed to play in prettier surroundings!

Holes: Hole 13 of 18 is a test of nerves – at only 160 yards, you’d think it was a simple par 3, but the wind buffer creates a tricky twist.

The area: Despite only having opened back in 2010, this golf club already has a great reputation among pros and amateurs alike. A mix of carob and olive trees decorate the grassy fairways, and you’ll be privy to some staggering views from the hillside as well.

Holes: Just as you think you’re almost done, the 17th hole – known as "Bobby Jones" – presents a troublesome over-the-island shot to tackle!

The area: The wild landscapes of Paphos are on show here in full force. The course is located right by Petra tou Romiou, the so-called birthplace of Aphrodite, and it’s a great 18-hole stretch that’ll keep you entertained for hours. The further you get, the more demanding you’ll find it!

Holes: All the holes here are fairly scenic, but number 12 is tipped as the signature and stares out across the water.
