Get away from it all with a trip to Glastros. This teeny village tucked into the south-west corner of Mykonos oozes tradition. Think whitewashed houses with sapphire trimmings, stone walls and a dinky chapel marked by a bright red door. If you’re after an island retreat that’s packed with peace, this is it.

Hop in the car and you’ll arrive in 10 minutes at Mykonos Town, the island’s beating heart. Wander the charming paved streets of Little Venice, ducking into quaint boutiques, before taking a seat at the stunning waterfront. Here, watch the sunset and admire the view of Mykonos’ famous windmills.
Glastros may be a small resort but it’s peppered with family-run eateries for evenings spent sampling Greece’s much-loved dishes. Slabs of feta, succulent gyros and lip-smacking kleftiko are all on the menu, while if you fancy a change in taste, there’s an Italian restaurant too.
From Glastros, you’ve got not one but two beaches within a five-minute drive. Korfos Beach is carpeted in sand, with plenty of water sports on offer. Ornos Beach has a sliver of shore to unwind on as well, with a crystal-clear bay for a refreshing swim when the heat peaks.
